Chamber cuts ribbon for new model home

GREENFIELD – Joyner Homes hosted a ribbon-cutting event Oct. 24.

The Hancock County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of Joyner Homes’ new model home in Phase Two of Williams Run, one of the company’s low-maintenance neighborhoods.

Weed prevention events coming up

GREENFIELD – Volunteer to eradicate invasive species in an upcoming weed wrangle event, or learn about plant species in an educational event.

The Hancock County CISMA Invasive Species Management is seeking volunteers for a weed wrangle. Help remove invasive species from 9:30 to noon Nov. 16 at Beckenholdt Park, 2770 N. Franklin St., Greenfield. Meet in the parking lot of the park and wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Some loppers and gloves are provided, or bring your own. Snacks and drinks are also provided. The group will also host an educational event called ‘The Basics of Natives and Invasives.” The event is at 6 p.m. Nov. 14 at Purdue Extension Hancock County, 972 E. Park Ave., Greenfield.

P.A.W.S. to host online sale

GREENFIELD – A holiday auction benefiting animal rescues will be online in November.

Partners in Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.) is hosting an online auction featuring gift cards, home decorations, fashion, pet toys and more. The sale is now through Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at pawshancock.org.
