Rotary food drive coming up
GREENFIELD – The Rotary Club of Greenfield is hosting its annual Fill A Truck Fill A Pantry drive.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 26 at Walmart in Greenfield, on the north end of the parking lot.
Items needed include non-perishable foods, canned foods, dry cereals and baby food. Donation recipients are Shirley Wilkinson United Methodist Church; Fortville Area Rescue Mission; Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen; Hancock County Food Pantry; Cross of Grace; and Brandywine Community Church. Monetary donations are also accepted, and recognition will be given for those who make a $100 (bronze), $250 (silver) or $500 (gold) donation.

Chamber to host veterans lunch, women’s conference
GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Chamber of Commerce has two events coming up in November.
Invite a Veteran to Lunch is an annual tradition, set for noon Nov. 5 at the Community Foundation of Hancock County’s Thrive Center, 971 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield. The Women in Business Conference is set for 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 15 at NineStar Connect, 2243 E. Main St., Greenfield. Celebrate the achievements of women in business, hear from a panel and enjoy lunch. Registration is $50. Sponsorships and door prizes are accepted. Working women nominations open
GREENFIELD – An outstanding working women of Hancock County will be honored in November, and nominations are open now.
The Hancock County Business and Professional Women’s Club is preparing to celebrate Indiana Federation of Business and Professional Working Women’s Month in November by honoring an outstanding working woman from Hancock County.
The qualities that a working woman nominee must exhibit should include passion, generosity, commitment, optimism and/or supportiveness.
A written nomination should be submitted by Oct. 28 to Carole Stevens, [email protected]. The nomination should include the name of the woman being nominated, contact information and the reason for nomination.
Cheeseball orders open now
GREENFIELD — The Upsilon chapter of Psi Iota Xi is taking pre-orders for its annual cheeseball fundraiser. Money raised supports speech and hearing, art, literature and music efforts in Hancock County.
Cheeseballs is the organization’s largest fundraiser. The chapter will be following health protocols and always prepares cheeseballs in a commercial kitchen with supervision of a food service professional. Cheeseballs will be ready for pick-up or delivery in mid-November.
Cheeseballs are available for pre-order. They are $8 each and come in savory and chocolate chip dessert flavors. Savory cheeseballs can be ordered rolled in nuts or without nuts. To order, please text (preferred) or call Katie Ottinger at 317-318-8313.
The Upsilon chapter will also have a booth at the Greenfield-Central High School Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7 to sell cheeseballs. No advance order necessary at the bazaar; items will be sold first-come, first-served while supplies last.
Psi Iota Xi, founded in 1897 in Muncie, Ind., is a women’s philanthropic organization with chapters throughout the Midwestern United States. Psi Iota Xi chapters are focused on raising money and offering volunteer service to improve the quality of life in their communities.
