INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (AP) — Drew VanVleet found Luke Brenner for a 33-yard touchdown with 11 seconds left in the game to lift Dayton to a 21-14 win over Butler to remain unbeaten Pioneer Football League play Saturday afternoon.

Butler was held to just two first-half field goals before Reagan Andrew capped an 81-yard, 12-play drive by scoring from the 8 with 5:38 left in the game. Nick Howard ran for the two-point conversion to tie the game at 14-14.

The Flyers (5-1, 3-0) started their final possession at their own 6, but VanVleet got breathing room by running 17 yards for a first down and Gavin Lochow broke free for 37 yards to the Butler 43. Mason Hackett carried three times for a first down at the 33 with 44 seconds left and VanVleet hit Brenner for their second touchdown of the day.

Butler (5-2, 1-2) got the ball back at their own 36 with 11 seconds left and Andrew ran for 10 yards for a first down near midfield, then connected with Griffin Caldwell for a 12-yard gain, but Caldwell fumbled and Dayton’s Ca’ron Coleman recovered to end the game.

VanVleet completed 11 of his 14 pass attempts for 137 yards and three touchdowns. Hackett carried 35 times for 111 yards.

Andrew was 10 of 14 for 50 yards and was picked off on the Bulldogs’s opening possession. He carried eight times for a team-high 87 yards.

Missouri State wins 5th straight 46-21 over Indiana State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Jacob Clark threw for 379 yards and three touchdowns and Jacardia Wright ran for two more scores to lead Missouri State to a 46-21 win over Indiana State on Saturday.

The Bears (5-2, 3-0 Missouri Valley Football Conference) took control of their homecoming game in the third quarter when Clark hooked up with Lance Mason for an 82-yard touchdown and Wright had his second short touchdown run. That made it 32-15. Clark closed the scoring with a short TD run.

The win was the fifth-straight for Missouri State, their longest since 2002 with the 3-0 conference start their best since 1997.

Clark was 22-of-27 passing with an interception and he was sacked five times. Wright had 77 yards on 20 carries. Lance had four catches for a career-high 111 yards, with his touchdown the longest for the Bears this season.

Elijah Owens was 12-of-17 for 154 yards and a 10-yard touchdown to Rashad Rochelle and he had an eight-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter that cut the deficit to 32-21.
