Local artist to share work
GREENFIELD – Hear from artist Chris Sickels and see the unveiling of the newest addition of his art installation at the Hancock County Public Library next month.
Sickels is a Greenfield-based illustrator who publishes his work under the name Red Nose Studio. He’ll explain how he sculpts 3-D figures and elaborate scenes from clay, wood, wire, paper, paint and an eclectic collection of objects. Sickels will also unveil an addition to the library’s “Over, Under and Beyond” art installation.

Fire department to host festive night out
GREENFIELD – The Buck Creek Township Fire Department will host a Halloween-themed Community Night Out from 2-6 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 19.
The event will feature a trunk or treat, goodie bags, prizes, raffle, food and a live doll house burn. Donations of non-perishable items for the department’s food pantry will be accepted. The department is located at 5809 Airport Blvd., Greenfield.
Baker’s Rainbow Bridge dedication Saturday
GREENFIELD – A grand opening and dedication ceremony for Baker’s Rainbow Bridge will be at 2 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 19 at Beckenholdt Park.
The park is located at 2770 N. Franklin St., Greenfield.
The rainbow bridge is a legendary passage believed to link Heaven and Earth. It’s seen as a place where bereaved pet owners can be reunited forever with their lost furry companions. Visit facebook.com/greenfieldparks for updates.
Bourbon-tasting event Saturday
GREENFIELD – Boots & Bourbon is coming up this Saturday Oct. 19, bringing a spirit-filled experience to participants while raising money for Meals on Wheels of Hancock County.
For $50, or $75 VIP, experience samples of bourbon, talk with industry experts and enjoy live music. There will also be other spirits plus gourmet food pairings. VIP entry is at 5 p.m. while general admission begins at 6 p.m. Designated driver tickets are available at $20.
