HANCOCK COUNTY — A Greenfield man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of child solicitation following an undercover operation.

Anthony Michael Glassberg, 26, 800 block of Marsh Aster Drive, has been charged with two Level 4 felony counts of child solicitation-solicitation to engage in sexual intercourse and two Level 5 felony counts of child solicitation-solicitation to engage in sexual intercourse stemming from two separate incidents in September.

Glassberg’s case was opened in Hancock County Circuit Court in early October with the initial hearing held Oct. 11 with Judge Scott Sirk who set a $10,000 cash bond. Court records show Glassberg is due back in court in January.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on September 17, an undercover detective used an online profile on social media as part of an operation to catch child predators. The undercover detective was assuming the persona of a 14-year-old female and was referred to as “Child One” in the report. An undercover detective from the Greenfield Police Department was using the persona of a 14-year-old female and was referred to as “Child Two” in the report.

Glassberg (who was not initially identified until later) reached out on the social media app Telegram, according to the report. Glassberg identified himself as Tony, 26 years old, married from Greenfield. Glassberg advised that he was interested in car play for $150 prior to knowing the female’s age, the report stated. Once the female advised that she was almost 15 years old, Glassberg declined to engage.

However, Glassberg reengaged with ‘Child One” a day later and advised that he had $150 for a quick visit, the report stated. “Child One” responded that she was almost 15 and couldn’t drive. Glassberg acknowledged that “this was wild,” the report stated, and that he felt like this was trap. Regardless, Glassberg then offered his prescription Vyvanse in exchange for sexual favors, the report stated.

Glassberg sent the undercover detective’s cell phone seven text messages on Sept. 27 and two more Sept. 30, the report stated. Officials noted that, in the initial text messages, the person said, “Hey this is (Child One’s) Friend. The conversation ensued over text messages where Glassberg attempted to get “Child Two” to get on Telegram but “Child Two” advised she was not allowed to download it.

According to the affidavit, Glassberg asked “Child Tw0” if she knew about what was going on with “Child One” and asked how old she was. “Child Two” advised she was 14 and asked if that was going to be a problem. Glassberg advised, “Hopefully no problem I just want to make sure that what happens is safe and protected at all times,” the report stated. Glassberg went on to ask about availability and what she was cool with doing. “Child Two” replied that it depended on what he wanted.

Glassberg, the report stated, was arrested by police when he arranged a meeting with “Child Two” the report stated. Glassberg was taken into custody by detectives in the 4000 West Block of U.S. 40 Greenfield. Officials noted that Glassberg had prescriptions for Adderall and Vyvanse in the vehicle as well as $172 cash and his cell phone, which were all taken as evidence.
