GREENFIELD — The highly-anticipated college choice of Greenfield-Central basketball standout Braylon Mullins will be made on Oct. 23.

Josh Mullins, Braylon’s father, said the date was set for the week after students return from fall break.

Greenfield-Central schools are on fall break from Oct. 7-18 and will return to classes for the second quarter of the school year on Monday, Oct. 21.

A 6-5 guard and 5-star recruit, Mullins recently narrowed his long list of potential college landing spots to three — Indiana, Connecticut and North Carolina.

Mullins is considered one of the nation’s top uncommitted basketball talents as well as a top candidate for Indiana Mr. Basketball and McDonald’s All-American.

Prior to narrowing his choices to three, Mullins’ final 10 list read like a who’s who of college basketball. It included, Purdue, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Among the schools that offered Mullins throughout the recruiting process included, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Ohio State, Arkansas, Iowa, Virginia Tech among others.

Mullins is also expected to sign his national letter-of-intent during the early signing period between Nov. 13-20.

Greenfield-Central’s boys basketball team begins its regular season with a home game Nov. 26 against Beech Grove.

As a junior, Mullins helped lead the Cougars to a 24-1 season, averaging 25 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.2 steals. He shot 56 percent from the field, 43 percent from 3-point range and 83 percent from the free-throw line.
