Nameless Creek Camp’s Fall That Jazz fundraiser returns Oct. 26.

Dinner event to benefit Nameless Creek

GREENFIELD — Tickets are available now for Fall That Jazz, a fundraiser dinner supporting Nameless Creek Camp.

The event is 6-10 p.m. Oct. 26 at the camp just south of Greenfield. Tickets are $60 and includes dinner, drinks and entertainment featuring Duke Blevins-DJ Karaoke Entertainment and Big Poppa’s Pork Pit Catering.

The event also includes an auction and raffle.

Area nonprofits receive mini grants

GREENFIELD – Seven area nonprofits recently received mini grants from the Community Foundation of Hancock County.

In total, $8,882 was awarded to the groups from the Forever Hancock Community Development Fund.

Friends of Recovery received $970 for a new computer, monitor and printer; Friends of the Theater received $668 for concessions equipment at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts; Hancock County Senior Services received $1,434 for security upgrades; The Landing received $1,500 for marketing materials and training; Meals on Wheels received $1,500 for computer updates; Regreening Greenfield received $1,310 for caring for Greenfield’s street trees; and Talitha Koum Recovery House received $1,500 to attend a training conference.

The Forever Hancock Community Development Fund was created by the foundation to address a broad range of needs. For a limited time, gifts to the foundation are tripled due to a grant from the Lily Endowment. The matching period ends Dec. 31, or until matching grant resources are exhausted. Farm family nominations open

GREENFIELD – Nominations are open for Beck’s and Indiana AgriNews Indiana Farm Family of the Year for 2025.

The annual award highlights the pivotal role farm families play in shaping our agricultural landscape and enriching rural life. Hancock County’s Muegge family won the 2024 award. Nominations are due Oct. 15 at beckshybrids.com.

Fire department to host festive night out

GREENFIELD – The Buck Creek Township Fire Department will host a Halloween-themed Community Night Out from 2-6 p.m. Oct. 19.

The event will feature a trunk or treat, goodie bags, prizes, raffle, food and a live doll house burn. Donations of non-perishable items for the department’s food pantry will be accepted. The department is located at 5809 Airport Blvd., Greenfield.

Trivia event to benefit Cops-4-Kids

GREENFIELD – A trivia night benefiting Cops-4-Kids holiday shopping program for underprivileged children is coming up.

The Greenfield Police Department is hosting the trivia night at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Fraternal Order of Police, 400 E. Davis Road, Greenfield.

Cost is $75 per team; registration forms are available at the GPD or by calling Dana Nance at 317-477-4410.

Food pantry to offer lunch, groceries

GREENFIELD – Enjoy a meal and free grocery pickup at Wellspring Food Pantry.

The pantry, located at Brandywine Community Church, is open for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 9 and Oct. 23. Food pantry pickup is from 12:30-2 p.m. the same days.

The lunch is in the church atrium while drive-through grocery pickup is at the barn adjacent to the church at 1551 E. New Road, Greenfield. For questions, call 317-462-2015.
