GREENFIELD – Dust off those boots and head to a bourbon-tasting event to raise money for a local charity.
Boots & Bourbon is coming up Oct. 19, bringing a spirit-filled experience to participants while raising money for Meals on Wheels of Hancock County.
For $50, or $75 VIP, experience samples of bourbon, talk with industry experts and enjoy live music. There will also be other spirits, including tequila and wine; plus gourmet food pairings.
“I have people come up to me all year round, looking forward to it, they mark it down on their calendars,” said Carrie Kosh, who is helping organize the event. “It’s just a really fun, enjoyable night with camaraderie, food and drinks.”
Sample more than 120 bourbon and spirits labels from large to small regional distilleries at the event, and participate in live and silent auctions.
Included in the general admission price are savory appetizers; live music; and live and silent auctions.
Early VIP entry starts at 5 p.m. Oct. 19 and general admission begins at 6 p.m. VIP tickets are available in a limited quantity and includes limited-batch, high-end bourbon tastings, craft appetizers and a swag bag with merchandise and cigar pairings.
Designated driver tickets are also available, at $20 and includes food and access to the live and silent auctions.
The event is at St. Michael Catholic Church, 515 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield. That’s a new venue, which Kosh says will hopefully give it a more up-scale feel.
Meals on Wheels of Hancock County is a nonprofit, medically tailored meal delivery program.
“We’re trying to make this year our biggest one yet,” she said. “All of this goes to greatly increase the amount of meals and food we are able to supply back to the community.
