GREENFIELD — A traffic shift on I-70 near Greenfield will happen soon, the Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP announced.

Beginning on or after Friday, Sept. 27, crews will shift the I-70 eastbound traffic from the counterflow configuration to the newly constructed I-70 eastbound lanes. Crews will open the Ind. 9 to I-70 eastbound ramp during this traffic shift.

Beginning on or after Oct. 1, crews will shift the I-70 westbound traffic to the counterflow configuration. Crews will close the Ind. 9 to I-70 westbound ramp during this traffic shift. This traffic shift will use the existing crossover lanes between CR 200W and Blue Road. Motorists will remain in the new westbound traffic configuration through mid-December, weather permitting.

INDOT reminds drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using caution and avoiding distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
