Hancock County will be placing a new four-way stop sign at the intersection of CR 600N and Fortville Pike, County Engineer Gary Pool says.
The county’s decision follows a spike in accidents and an increase in traffic at the intersection. It had looked into the stop sign last year, but didn’t qualify for the warrant. The intersection already has a 2-way stop sign halting drivers on 600 N, the four-way stop would also stop drivers on Fortville Pike.
Pool says that the new stop sign will be ready in about a month.
