MCCORDSVILLE
Dan Alan Justus, 57, of McCordsville, passed away on September 10, 2024, in Indianapolis. He was born on September 19, 1966 in Shelbyville, to Larry and Izetta (Isley) Justus.
Dan was a dynamic entrepreneur with a myriad of talents. He thrived in the fast-paced world of real estate and selflessly served as a dedicated volunteer firefighter for many years. Dan also was an active member of the Town of Fortville Plan Commission and the McCordsville Board of Zoning Appeals.
His passions included stylish tennis shoes, golfing in leagues and on trips with his buddies and coffee from Starbucks, where everyone knew his specific drink of choice: caramel macchiato, light foam, extra caramel drizzle! He enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycles, especially the bike Cole and Logan gave him for Christmas. In addition to all of these things, nothing could compare to the deep love he had for his cherished wife, his spirited sons, and his beloved grandsons. He was always generous, humble and kind to anyone he had interactions with whether you were a friend or complete stranger.
Dan is survived by his wife Dawn Marie (Helsten) Justus, who he married August 27, 1993; and his sons Cole (Mekynzie) Justus and Logan (Kristyn) Justus; grandsons Cash and Jett; his mother Izetta L. Justus; siblings Brenda Sterritt, Scott (Michelle) Justus, and Lisa (Wayne) Chenoweth along with many other extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Larry Justus.
