Fountaintown church offers festival

FOUNTAINTOWN — The Fountain plans a free Fall Festival from 4-7 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 14).

It will feature a Dan’s Fish Fry meal, ice cream, bingo, Dessert Dash, bumper ball, a Foam Happy party, yard games, bounce house/obstacle course, an air brush artist, a kindness coloring page and raffles. A 3 on 3 basketball tournament is also planned.

Local non-profit Kindness Delivered is partnering with the church on this event.

Between now and the festival, the church is gathering new toy donations for God’s Open Arms Ministry and food for Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen. Both community partners will be respresented at the festival.

Wrestling Theology presents ‘Heroes’

FORTVILLE — The wrestling ring is full of ‘Heroes’ as Wrestling Theology Fellowship returns to Fortville.

‘Heroes’ is a pro-wrestling-style event set for Saturday (Sept. 14) at Mercy Road Church Northeast, 611 Vitality Drive. Doors open at 5 p.m. with bell at 6.

Outdoor worship nights coming

FORTVILLE — Fortville Christians Unite plans “One Night of Worship,” set for Sunday in Landmark Park, 201 E. Staat St. Food trucks, bounce houses and games open at 4 p.m.

The worship gathering runs from 5-6 p.m. An after party from 6-8 features continued activities, plus youth games such as ultimate Frisbee.

In Greenfield, various churches are promoting Community Worship Night at the Depot, set for 6 p.m. Sept. 29 at Depot Street Park, 251 Depot St. Those who go are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

The service includes music, prayer and Communion. Some song sheets will be available with lyrics, and also possibly a QR code that would bring them up on a person’s device.

People who can walk an extra block or two are encouraged to park farther out, so those with mobility issues can find parking close to the park.

Craft, vendor fair is Sept. 21

NEW PALESTINE — The United Women in Faith group will sponsor a Craft and Vendor Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 21 at New Palestine United Methodist Church, 3565 S. CR 500W, New Palestine. It will feature art, jewelry, candles, greeting cards, women’s clothing, holiday items and more.

Food is also for sale, including a breakfast of biscuits and gravy with coffee. Lunch features a baked potato bar, hot dogs, coney dogs, popcorn, desserts and soft drinks.

Golf outing to aid Love INC

GREENFIELD — Axis Worship Center of New Palestine will sponsor a golf outing Friday to benefit Love INC.

It will take place at Arrowhead Golf Course, 3974 Clubhouse Drive. Check-in starts at 10 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11.

Cost is $60 per player, which includes 18 holes with cart and a Chick-fil-A meal.

Hole sponsorships are available for $100. Volunteers are needed for the event.

Mt. Comfort offers fish fry

MT. COMFORT — Mt. Comfort Church’s annual fish fry runs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 14).

Meals are $14 at the event.

A car show runs from 1-3 p.m. Registration is $20, or $5 for a non-judged entry, and can also be completed online on the church website.

The church is located at 3179 N. CR 600W (Mt. Comfort Road), Greenfield.

Market to aid Hope Center

INDIANAPOLIS — Gather Hope Market features handmade items, sold to benefit Hope Center Indy’s work to fight human trafficking. The market is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 14) at the center just outside New Palestine, located at 11850 Brookville Road.

Lord’s Acre Festival continues

McCORDSVILLE — The annual Lord’s Acre Festival began Friday and continues from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 14) at McCordsville United Methodist Church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.

The festival features a fish fry and also a includes vintage car show, vendor booths and live music. A chicken and noodles lunch on Saturday of the festival sells out each year.

For children, there’s face painting, bounce houses and the church playground. On Sept. 14, there’s also a Silly Safaris animal show and Touch a Truck with local first responders.

Winter clothing offered today

GREENFIELD — Pick up free winter coats, hats, gloves and more in a giveaway event.

Coats of Many Colors is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 14) at Steak ‘N Shake, 2121 N. State St., Greenfield. The event is sponsored by Apostolic Pentecostal Church and includes items of all sizes, from infant to adult. Contact Pastor Joseph Riggs with questions at 317-496-6845.

Gathering meant for people over 50

WILKINSON — Senior Saints meets from 6-8 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at Wilkinson Church of Christ, 7293 N. State Road 109. According to the church website, it’s “a time for our over 50 crowd to meet and grow in their relationship with Jesus!”

Mt. Lebanon to serve pulled pork

GREENFIELD — Mt. Lebanon Community Church will serve a pulled pork dinner from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 12 at the church, 3447 S. State Road 9.

The menu will include pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, green beans, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, dessert and beverage.

A free-will offering will be accepted for missions and special projects.

German Dinner coming to Zion

NEW PALESTINE — Zion Lutheran Church’s 48th annual German dinner is set for 4-7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the church, 6513 W. CR 300S.

The traditional German dinner includes sauerbraten, pork and kraut, brats, ham, potato pancakes, green beans, potato salad, applesauce and desserts.
