Thomas “Tom” Williams, born March 24, 1953, passed away peacefully on September 6th, 2024. A proud alumnus of Carmel High School and a dedicated businessman, Tom owned and operated a successful drywall company for many decades. Tom was famous for his signature greeting “Hey Bub” which brought warmth and familiarity to all who knew him. He was known for his infectious laugh, kind spirit and unwavering love for his wife, daughters, and grandkids. The beloved traditions of Tom’s unbeatable pancakes, exceptional grilling skills, and outstanding homemade popcorn were hallmarks of family gatherings, grandkid sleepovers, and movie nights reflecting a talent for bringing his family together. His family represented his most profound achievement, and he frequently expressed his willingness to do anything for their wellbeing. Tom was also a passionate sports fan. He particularly loved the Indiana Pacers and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Tom leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Debbie (Frank) Williams. He was a devoted father to Melissa (Williams) Hurst and her husband Matt Hurst, and Angie (Williams) Crook and her husband Steven Crook. Tom was a Papaw to his six grandchildren: Edin Hurst (22), Danielle Crook (19), Rylee Hurst (18), Micheal Crook (17), Sam Crook (14), and Byntlee Hurst (12), who were the pride and joy of his life.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Richard “Dick” Williams and Adaleen “Addie”(Kurzhel) Williams.
He is survived by his siblings Sue Ann (Williams) Picaroni, Bill Williams and Joe Holloway, and Scott Williams and Chrissy (Richey) Williams.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 15, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 PM, with services beginning at 4:00 at Bell Mortuary, 1444 US-52 Fountaintown, IN 46130. Officiated eulogist will be Steven Crook. There will be no cemetery services.
Tom’s presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his spirit will forever remain in their hearts.
