GREENFIELD
Nedra Jones age 89, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in Mohawk, Indiana on December 19, 1934, to Lloyd and Vonda (Barnard) Whitaker. She married Cleo Arthur Jones on January 12, 1952, in Greenfield. She lived in Jupiter Florida from 1974 until June of 2024.
Nedra worked at Western Electric for 10 years in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was co-owner of her husband’s construction business for many years and was also a homemaker.
Nedra’s first love was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed bowling, gardening and shopping.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Gary) Oden of Greenfield, and Beth (Bill) Edwards of Jupiter, Florida; brother, Bruce (Margie) Whitaker, of McCordsville; grandchildren, Jeff McKee, Chad (Leslie) Oden, Cory Oden, and Kristen (Austin) Nuquist; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Seth, Luke, AJ, Kyle, Isaac, Adley, Claire, Ryland, and Kiki; great-great-grandchildren, Cleo and Maya; many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved dog, Lexie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Robert Whitaker, infant brother, Lloyd William Whitaker, and sister, June Wetzel.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 E. McKenzie Road, Greenfield, Indiana, on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The Memorial Service will follow the gathering at 4:00 pm., with David Woods officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
