Car show, fish fry returns to Mt. Comfort Church

GREENFIELD – The eighth annual Car Show and Fish Fry returns to Mt. Comfort Church Sept. 14.

The car show is noon to 3 p.m. with registration at $20 per car (non-judged registration is $5 per car). The meal is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at $12 per meal for pre-orders. The meal includes hand-battered cod, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, dessert and drink. Day of the event price is $14. Register and pre-order at mtcomfortchurch.com. The church is located at 3179 N. 600W., Greenfield.

Master gardeners to host plant sale

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Master Gardener Association will host a fall pant sale in September.

The event features fall annuals, perennials, live demonstrations, and master gardeners on site to answer questions.

The sale is 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 6, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds 4-H Show Arena, 620 N. Apple St., Greenfield. For updates, visit hancockmga.com or facebook.com/hancockmga.

Harvest event coming to HCPL

GREENFIELD — “Happy Harvesting” is the theme of an upcoming Green Thumb Project event at the Hancock County Public Library.

Learn about food preservation and the importance of sustainable gardening in a free educational event sponsored by the Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation district and the Hancock County Master Gardener Association.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 21 with presentations and educational booths from 10 a.m. to noon. The library is at 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. Register in advance at hcplibrary.org.
