Trailing 5-2 at halftime, Mt. Vernon’s girls soccer team rallied to earn a 6-6 tie against visiting Homestead (2-2-1) Saturday.
Hannah Monroe had a hat trick for the Marauders. Kylie Brandes scored two goals and Reagan Britt had the other Mt. Vernon tally.
Jaicee Cole, Olivia Masterson and Brandes each had assists.
Mt. Vernon’s record is 3-0-2.
Dragons improve to 2-0 in HHC
Rylee Hurst and Nevaeh Gebhart had two goals each to lead New Palestine to a 6-1 Hoosier Heritage Conference girls soccer victory at Delta Saturday.
Campbell Wintin and Tylar Whitaker added goals. Hailey Pardieck, Shaylee Frank, Wintin, Hurst and Gebhart all had assists.
New Palestine is 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the HHC.

Dragons defeat Bears
Cole Christopher scored two second-half goals to lead New Palestine to a 2-1 victory over visiting Lawrence Central Saturday.
Paxton Holmes assisted on both tallies.
The win evens the Dragons record at 3-3.
