MCCORDSVILLE — The 78th Schwier Family Reunion was Aug. 11 at the Louis J. Jenn Memorial Park just west of McCordsville.
There were 146 family members present, from ages two months to 89.
Family came from as far away as California and Texas. Schwier family members are the descendants of the 10 children of Wilhelm and Elenore Schwier, who immigrated to America from Germany in 1884.
Schwier cousins gathered at noon for a welcome and prayer in a family circle, followed by a pitch-in dinner. Afternoon activities included a cornhole tournament and guessing games, along with plenty of memory sharing and family conversation.
