Concerts coming to outdoor venues
GREENFIELD – Free concerts are coming up at outdoor venues this weekend in Hancock County.
Depot Street Park will feature Thunderstruck, an AC/DC tribute band this Saturday. Opening act Hunter Lee Band starts at 6 p.m. Aug 31.
In downtown Cumberland, Blues, Beer & BBQ will feature The Blue Sky Dogs, Zach Day and Gordon Bonham from 6-10 p.m. Saturday.
McCordsville community party Sept. 7
MCCORDSVILLE – The second annual Party in the Park is coming to McCordsville in September.
The free community event is set for 6-9 p.m. Sept. 7 at Town Hall Park, 6280 W. 800N., McCordsville.
Expect a zip line, axe throwing trailer, inflatables, a caricature artist, face painting, music, local vendors and more. Food is available for purchase at food trucks and a movie will be shown at dusk. Visit facebook.com/townofmccordsville for updates.
Children’s art classes available
GREENFIELD – Children’s art programs are available this fall at the Greenfield Parks and Recreation Art Studio.
Celebrate Hispanic Herriage Month in September with classes from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sept. 4, 11 and 18. During fall break, a Children’s Art Mini Camp is Oct. 8-10. Adopt a Squishmallow and make fall-themed art inspired by the stuffy 5:30-7:30 p.m. each evening.
Classes are for children in grades kindergarten through sixth; register at parksingreenfield.com/youth-programs. The studio is in the Patricia Elmore Center at Riley Park, 280 N. Apple St., Greenfield.
Paper quilling class open
GREENFIELD – Learn paper quilling at an adult craft night in September.
Greenfield Parks and Recreation Art Studio will host a class from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 20. Learn the art of paper quilling and craft a fall-themed project; all supplies are provided at a registration cost of $35. Visit parksingreenfield.com/adult-programs to register.
