HANCOCK COUNTY — Another subdivision is under construction in one of the fastest-growing areas in the county.

The new subdivision is located west of the New Palestine town limits and just east of Indianapolis on the southeast corner of U.S. 52 and Brookville Road on CR South 800W and Carroll Road.

D.R. Horton’s Indianapolis division announced the subdivision recently as its newest Hancock County community and is calling the complex Fields at Sugar Creek. The home builders are officially open for business, officials said in a release, and are now selling homes starting in the mid-$300s.

Officials with the company say families can choose from a variety of single-family floor plans featuring both traditional and modern farmhouse exterior design.

Officials with the build said the community is offering single-level and two-story home designs ranging from 1,503 to 3,388 square feet, all with side-load garages and built on oversized homesites. A select number of wooded or pond-view homesites are available, with 111 total homesites available in the community.

Homes at Fields at Sugar Creek feature will have nine-foot first-floor ceilings, quartz counter tops, stainless steel appliances, laminate flooring, smart home features, a landscaping package and more, officials said.

The subdivision is located approximately 2.3 miles from the Hancock Wellness Center, 1.6 miles from Sugar Creek Township Park, and 6.3 miles for commutes on I-465. The Fields at Sugar Creek is considered to be in the New Palestine area. Officials with the build said in a release, “the town offers abundant charm, continued growth, a solid sense of community and plentiful dining and recreation options with many local shops, farms, parks and more and located in the Southern Hancock County School District.”
