GREENFIELD
Lori Lynn Jarrett Gunn, 64, Greenfield, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis after a short illness.
Ms. Gunn was born on June 17, 1960, at St. John’s Hospital in Anderson. She was the youngest child of Jackie and Marilyn Jarrett. She grew up on the family farm near Yorktown and graduated from Yorktown High School in 1978. In high school, she was a member of the rifle corps and also was a 10-year member of 4-H.
Ms. Gunn worked 34 years for the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Indianapolis, retiring in 2023 as a chief analyst who helped thousands of veterans navigate the government health care system.
Ms. Gunn enjoyed horseback riding, playing games and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts. She volunteered at the Indianapolis Scottish Highland Games and Festival, proudly donning her clan kilt.
Ms. Gunn attended Hancock Reformed Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by her son, Jerami R. Summers (Klancey Zubowski) of McCordsville; her sister, Paula S. Jarrett (David Hill) of Fishers; her brother, Robin P. Jarrett (Deneice) of Fishers; and her beloved grandchildren, Braydon and Emma Summers. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Timothy Gunn, whom she wed in December 1998.
Indiana Funeral Care is handling arrangements. A celebration of her life will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in the chapel at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville, with memories and mingling starting at 2 p.m. She will be interred at Gravel Lawn. Ms. Gunn was a devoted cat mommy; memorial contributions may be made to Partners for Animal Welfare Society, 1224 W. Main St., Greenfield, IN 46140
