G-C band to host free community show

GREENFIELD – A free community show of the Greenfield-Central High School marching band is coming up this weekend.

The event will be 6-9 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Hancock Health Stadium at G-CHS, 810 N. Broadway St., Greenfield. The show is titled “Any Way the Wind Blows.” Food trucks will be on site, as well as a dunk tank. The show begins at 8 p.m.

Square dance lessons available this fall

GREENFIELD – Square dance lessons for all ages are available starting in September.

Swinging Singles will host lessons this fall, from 7-9 p.m. on Monday evenings in September. Events are at Buck Creek Township Community Room, 5809 W. Airport Blvd., Greenfield. Pulled pork meal Sept. 7

GREENFIELD – A pulled pork meal is coming up 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 7, hosted by Hancock Lodge 101.

The $9.99 meal includes a sandwich and a choice of two sides, coleslaw, baked beans or macaroni and cheese. Bottled water is an additional $1; soft drinks, $2. Mental health training coming up

GREENFIELD – Mental Health First Aid training is coming up in October.

A course hosted by Purdue Extension of Hancock County and sponsored by the Hancock County Health Department will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Purdue Extension office, 972 E. Park Ave., Greenfield.

Benefit car show coming to New Pal

NEW PALESTINE – The second annual Anything On Wheels car show benefiting Whalens Heroes is coming up in New Palestine.

GREENFIELD – Learn how to avoid identity theft and scams in an upcoming workshop at the Hancock County Public Library.
