Larry Gene Boone, age 85, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Abbie Hunt Bryce Home. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 30, 1939 to Ralph Morris and Marietta June (Dodd) Boone. He attended Warren Central High School. He married Marieta Liane (Jones) Boone on June 20, 1992 in New Castle.

Larry was the proud owner and operator of Larry Boone Electric and he dedicated his time to the company for sixty-five years, until his retirement. He was also a devoted member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Greenfield, Indiana. He was an active participant in many clubs and organizations. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge #9 for fifty years, the American Legion Post #119, VFW in Greenfield #2693, the Morristown Lodge #231, and the National Rifle Association. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, often in the company of his dog Willie, and would love to fish. Not only did he enjoy fishing, but he looked forward to being with friends, family, and business associates at his annual Boonie Bash in Arlington.

He is survived by his wife, Marieta Boone; children, Debby Boone, Jeanne (Charles) Meadows, and Christopher Boone; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; siblings, David Joe Boone and Danny Rae Boone; several nieces and nephews, Larry was especially close to nephew Randy Boone; and stepchildren, Timothy Fargo, Keith Fargo, Rosetta Majors, and Susan Ragan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Morris and Marietta June Boone; brother, Timothy Dennis Boone; and son, Mark Duane Boone.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 1741 S State St, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Pastor Blue will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Indiana.
