Hansen named national president of sorority

GREENFIELD – Mickie Hansen of Greenfield was installed as the national president of Psi Iota Xi. In this role, she will oversee the activity of 90 chapters throughout Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky.

Hansen has been a member of Psi Iota Xi for 30 years. She joined the Bloomfield chapter in 1994 to meet women who shared her values of fun, faith, and philanthropy, according to a press release from the local chapter. Soon after, she and her husband, Rusty, moved to Greenfield. Hansen quickly became active in the Upsilon chapter. She has held every chapter officer position.

In 2012, Mickie joined the Indiana State Association of Psi Iota Xi leadership as treasurer. She worked her way up to president of the Indiana State Association, and the Upsilon chapter hosted the state meeting in Greenfield in 2016.

Continuing her leadership ascent, Hansen joined the Psi Iota Xi national council in 2016 as the Southeast District Officer. Over the past several years, she fulfilled the roles of conductress, project chair, secretary, and vice president.

Hansen and the Upsilon chapter will host the 2025 National Convention of Psi Iota Xi in Indianapolis next June.

Psi Iota Xi, founded in 1897 in Muncie, Ind., is a women’s philanthropic organization with chapters throughout the midwestern United States. Psi Iota Xi chapters are focused on raising money and offering volunteer service to improve the quality of life in their communities. Membership in Psi Iota Xi is open to any female 18 years of age and older.
