PEORIA, AZ
Jean Elizabeth Hardin Metcalf was born June 15, 1933, in Greenfield, Indiana to Herschel and Lura Davis Hardin. She graduated from Greenfield High School and attended one year of college at Earlham. She married her high school sweetheart, Harold (Skip), in 1952.
Jean was an avid golfer all through her life and won several club championships both at the Greenfield Country Club and the Tucson Country Club. Church was a very important part of her life, and she therefore was always active in supporting the churches she attended.
While living in Tucson from 1962 to 2000, she attended the Tucson Friends Meeting and upon moving back to Greenfield, she attended the Greenfield Friends Meeting.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard (Helen) and her son Ben (Ava).
She is survived by her husband Harold B. Metcalf Jr, brother John (Becky), daughters Beth and Becky, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
No one could ask for a better daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She was loving and loved and will be missed every day.
She will be remembered as part of the Sunday Worship Service at Greenfield Friends Meeting on August 18, 2024, at 10AM.
