Larry Lee Redmon, age 82, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at his home in the company of his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Redmon; sons, John Redmon of Greenfield and Lonnie Redmon (Diane) of Carthage; daughter, Christina Lee of Greenfield; brother, Ronald Redmon (Kay) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Redmon; and son-in-law, Mark Lee.

He was born in Jasper County, Illinois on February 3, 1942 to Delmar T. and Anna Mae (Jeffers) Redmon. He served in the Army/Military Police for three years. Larry worked for Central Indiana Power for thirty years, starting as a meter reader and eventually becoming a lead lineman, before retiring in 2003. He married Shirley (Hancock) Redmon on July 4, 2013.

Larry was a member of the American Legion in Greenfield. He raised Bobwhite Quail for nearly forty years. He loved fishing, whether it was his annual Father’s Day contest or enjoying one of his many trips to Brookville Lake. Larry was also an avid hunter, training and raising dozens of dogs over the years and competing at American Kennel Club events. He took his gardening seriously, and always made sure to have plenty for friends and family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Maddie Lee will be officiating. Britiany Robinson will be leading prayer. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, Indiana.
