Indy songwriter to perform at HCPL

GREENFIELD – Katherine Nagy & Friends will perform in a free concert at 6:30 p.m. July 30 at the Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield.

Nagy is an Indianapolis-based songwriter and performer. Her songs have been featured on Amazon Prime, Netflix, CBS, and Bravo TV.

She performs regularly at The Jazz Kitchen, The Studio Theatre, and regional music festivals. Her trio also opened for national touring artists Gabe Dixon and The Willy Porter Band.

Live entertainment coming to outdoor venues

GREENFIELD – Several free concerts are coming to Hancock County’s outdoor venues this month.

Depot Street Park feature local British Invasion rock band 45 RPM with opening act Vinyl Eclipse at 6 p.m. July 26.

In New Palestine, the Nauti Yachtys perform at 7 p.m. July 27 at the Music on Depot event, located on East Main Street.

Downtown Cumberland features Blues, Beer and BBQ from 6-10 p.m. July 27. Performers are Jennie DeVoe, King Bee and the Stingers and Queen Delphine and the Crown Jewels.

Portrait exhibit coming to gallery

GREENFIELD — Portraiture in several mediums will be on display by award winning artists from Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois.

The exhibition runs Aug. 9-31, at the Twenty North Gallery, home of Hancock County Arts, 20 N. State St., Greenfield. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The opening reception is 5:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 9.

In conjunction with the exhibit, artists will be creating paintings and drawings of radio celebrity models from life at “A Face for Radio”. This event takes place on 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at Bradley Hall Events venue, 2 W. Main St., Greenfield. Models include Ann Richards from B105, Mindy Winkler from HANK FM, Eliott King, WZPL, and Ann Payton, IHeart Radio. Art analysts, Mary Ann Davis and Cynthia Young will be interviewing the Portrait Society artists as they work. The event is open to the public to observe the artists as they work. Chocolate Walk coming up Aug. 9

GREENFIELD – The Chocolate Walk returns to downtown Greenfield Aug. 9.

The event hosted by the Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce features samples of chocolate at several businesses and sites in the downtown area. Tickets are $20 and the event sells out quickly. Vendor applications and sponsorship opportunities are also available. Visit greenfieldcc.org.

Murder mystery event this fall

GREENFIELD – A murder mystery dinner event will come to downtown Greenfield once again this fall.

Due to the popularity of this spring’s event, Greenfield Main Street will host another murder mystery event. “I Love the ‘80s to Death” will be at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at Bradley Hall Events. Tickets are $65. Event features a buffet style dinner; come dressed in neon colors, hair teased, leg warmers and more.
