Leadership Hancock County names board members, plans for new year

GREENFIELD – Leadership Hancock County recently appointed new officers, and is currently accepting applications for the 2024-2025 program year.

LHC’s mission is to empower leaders through education and connections, cultivating growth int he community, according to a press release from the organization.

The annual meeting g June 12 named Jane Barton of GBC Bank president of the board. Vice president is Stephanie Kendall, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance; secretary, Danielle Nylund, Hancock County Farm Bureau; and treasurer, Alisha Love, NineStar Connect.

New board members are Sarah House, Hancock Health; Nicole Mann, Nicole Mann Photography; and Laura Parker, Community Foundation of Hancock County.

Remaining board members are Lori Cooley of Hancock Health, Chantel Fowler, Boys and Girls Club of Hancock County; Kerry Grass, Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory; Courtney Miller, business consultant and nonprofit strategist; Ryan Nasby, Hancock County Sheriff’s Department; and Jeremy Teipen, Hancock County Public Defenders Office.

Class sessions are held once monthly from September 2024 to May 2025. Full day sessions include two retreat days, non-profit and community issues day, local business and agriculture day, history day, government day, servant leadership and situational leadership.

Leadership Hancock County was formed in 1996 under the care of Thomas Seng, CEO of Central Indiana Power and Nancy King, Hancock County home economist. They wished to create a leadership training opportunity for Hancock County that did not exist at the time. Leadership Hancock County has continued to grow and develop leaders in the community through classes, training, projects and more.
