GREENFIELD – Calling all Swifties!

There’s just one week left to buy tickets for Greenfield Main Street’s raffle to win a pair of seats at Taylor Swift’s Nov. 1 concert in Indianapolis.

Tickets to a Taylor Swift concert are a hot commodity, to say the least.

Each date typically sells out within an hour – which is about how long it takes to process that many tickets online – and after-market tickets are sold for thousands of dollars.

Greenfield Main Street is selling raffle tickets that are $25 per ticket, with a maximum of 10 tickets per person. While a number of people were buying 10 at a time when the raffle first launched five weeks ago, Condra said most people are now buying one or two tickets apiece.

Proceeds from the raffle will support GMS community events as well as the nonprofit’s facade grant program, which offers grants to downtown business owners to spruce up the front-facing sides of their buildings.

The Main Street raffle kicked off at a June 15 concert at Depot Street Park in Greenfield, where fans flocked to see a lookalike singer perform Swift’s hits in a concert called “Reputation: The Taylor Swift Experience.”

Condra said ticket sales have been moving swiftly, so to speak, but she’s hoping to sell many more before the clock strikes 12 at midnight July 31.

The winner will be announced Aug. 1 on Facebook Live.

Roughly 420 tickets have been sold so far, including some to out-of-state callers from as far away as Florida and New Mexico.

Condra hopes the Taylor Swift raffle not only raises money for the nonprofit’s programming but also raises awareness of what Greenfield Main Street is all about.

The nonprofit hosts a number of events each year designed to draw people into the downtown commercial district.

The popular murder mystery event, Murder on Main, returns to Bradley Hall Event Center on Sept. 14, while Boos & Brews returns on Oct. 26. The Ho Ho Holiday breakfast will also return this year.

For now Condra’s focus is on selling as many Eras Tour raffle tickets as possible.

Per state gaming laws, tickets can only be purchased in person or by credit card over the phone.

Those interested in purchasing tickets should call the Main Street office to purchase by phone or set up a time to stop by.

Tickets will also be available 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday at the Pennsy Trail Art & Music Festival on Courthouse Plaza, downtown Greenfield, and from 5-9 p.m. at the New Palestine Summer Concert Series, at 11 E. Naub St. in New Palestine.
