R. Dale Kitley, 92, of New Palestine, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014. He was born Dec. 31, 1921, near Noblesville to the late Logan and Lillie (Ulrey) Kitley.
He grew up on the family farm in Franklin Township, Marion County, and graduated from Franklin Township High School. He married his wife of over 67 years, Annabel E. Jordan, on Nov. 16, 1946. He was a life-time farmer and a rural mail carrier, retiring in 1982 from the U.S. Postal service. Dale was a member of New Palestine United Methodist Church, Gideons International, and a 70 year plus member of New Palestine Masonic Lodge and Scottish-Rite.
He will be greatly missed by his 2 daughters, Roberta (Jim) Fowler and Lillie (Dan) Jones; grandchildren, Amy Jones, Dale (Lauren) Jones; great-grandchild Mason Jones; brother, David M. Kitley and sister-in-law, Gloria Kitley.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Annabel; parents; and brothers, and sisters-in-law, Jesse (Myrtle), Charles (Betty), John, Paul (Justine), Mark and Virginia Kitley.
Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, at the New Palestine United Methodist Church, 3565 South 500 West, New Palestine, IN. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the church with burial to follow at New Palestine Cemetery with Pastor Mark Wesler presiding.
