Phyllis Carol (Thompson) Whitlow, 82, passed on to the afterworld on June 30, 2024. She was born in Gary, IN, on April 16, 1942, and was raised in Indianapolis and Morgantown, Indiana.
She raised her family in Indianapolis and spent her final decades in Knightstown. She was a free-spirit and humanitarian, passionate about her family, friends, the performing arts, photography, and travel.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Robert and Alma (Shoemaker) Thompson; sister, Wanda (Thompson) Smith; and brother, Leonard Thompson.
She will remain eternally in the hearts of her children: Brian (Denise) Hall, Lisa Murphy, Michael Murphy, and Geoffrey (Amy) Potter; grandchildren: Kristin, Dustin, Lauren, and Grahm; great-grandchildren: Noah and Lyla; soul mate, Mark Schmalz; and soul sister, Beverly Oathout.
She will rest with her ancestors in Beattyville, Kentucky.
A celebration of Phyllis’s life is to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please honor her by donating to the Dementia Society of America. Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, is assisting the family during their time of loss.
