Taylor Swift ticket raffle supports GMSI

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Main Street Inc. is raffling two tickets to the Taylor Swift concert this fall in Indianapolis.

It’s $25 for each raffle ticket, with a limit of 10. Participants must be 18 to participate. A winner will be drawn Aug. 1. The concert is Nov. 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The raffle supports Greenfield Main Street Inc., a volunteer organization that strives to bring positive change to Greenfield’s downtown district for business owners and residents. A booth will also be available at Saturday’s Freedom Fest at Depot Street Park to learn more about Greenfield Main Street or to purchase raffle tickets.

Nighttime summer park event coming up

GREENFIELD – Glow in the Park returns to Riley Park July 13, featuring a large slip and slide down the sledding hill.

The annual celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month also features extended splash pad hours and giveaways. The event is hosted by Greenfield Parks and Recreation.

Hours are 8-10 p.m. July 13 at 280 N. Apple St., Greenfield.

A waiver is required to participate in the slip and slide; all children under 18 must have an adult sign. All activities are free; no registration is required.

Libraries to host events for children, teens

GREENFIELD – Local libraries will continue to promote summer reading this month.

In Fortville, reptile programs are scheduled for July 9 and 15 at the Vernon Township Public Library. Hedgehog Hannah will bring a variety of animals July 27, and a duck and chicken event is July 29.

At the Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield, family yoga is scheduled for July 17; a Lego building event is July 11; a family game night is July 15; and a poetry event is July 16. Teens can enjoy Mario Kart tournaments and STEAM challenges throughout the month.

The HCPL in New Palestine offers family yoga July 10 and 24.

All libraries host story times for various ages throughout the month.
