First responders receive awards at Rotary
GREENFIELD – The Rotary Club of Greenfield honored local heroes in June with several 2024 Walter Worland First Responder Awards.
The awards are in memory of Worland, a longstanding businessman, volunteer and philanthropist in the community.
Adam Foster received the Walter Worland Paramedic of the Year Award. Foster is a firefighter/paramedic for the Greenfield Fire Territory and also serves in the National Guard.
Kurt Davis earned the Walter Worland Firefighter of the Year Award. A firefighter/paramedic with the Greenfield Fire Territory, Davis also provides firefighting classes through the department’s training academy and Fire Ops 101 course.
John Collins earned the Walter Worland Dispatcher of the Year Award. Collins is a longtime dispatcher with the Hancock County Emergency Operations Center.
John Cutler was honored with the Walter Worland Officer of the Year Award. Cutler serves with the Greenfield Police Department and also recently became EMT certified. He was honored specifically for caring about the community and its children.
Cooking with herbs event July 31
GREENFIELD – Hancock County Extension Homemakers is hosting a Cooking with Herbs event this month.
The class is at 6:30 pm. July 31 at the Hancock County Purdue Extension office, 972 E. Park Ave., Greenfield. Keynote speaker is Amanda Marciano Feutz of the Hendricks County extension office. For more, call 317-462-1113.
Chamber golf tournament coming up
GREENFIELD – The Greenfield Area Chamber Classic Golf Tournament is coming up this month.
