Libraries offer programs for adults

GREENFIELD – Several programs for adults are coming up in July at local libraries.

Vinyasa Yoga is offered every Saturday at the Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield. Also at the Greenfield library is a birding photography workshop July 13; a book club July 9; open genealogy research July 10; adult craft club July 16; a writing club July 18.

Local artist Rachel Holmes will teach about vinyl record painting in both the Greenfield and New Palestine libraries July 17. A Cast Iron 101 Workshop through Culinary Adventures with Pam is scheduled for July 23 in New Palestine and July 24 in Greenfield. To register for events, visit hcplibrary.org.

In Fortville, the Vernon Township Public Library offers a book club for adults July 11; and a Tuesday Morning Club for seniors every week. Visit vtpl.lib.in.us for more information.

Bike Fest July 13 at fairgrounds

GREENFIELD – The annual Greenfield Bike Fest is coming up at 4 p.m. July 13 at a new venue.

The Hancock County Fairgrounds will host the event by Greenfield Motorcycle Riders. Admission is free and includes live music, twin stunts, BMX bikes, a kids area, fireworks and more.

Book donations accepted July 13 at HCPL

GREENFIELD – Drop off gently used books, DVDs CDs and video games from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 13 at the Bookmobile garage on the north side of the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield.

Donations will go toward Friends of the Library sales; Friends is the charitable group of volunteers who raise money to support concerts, children’s performs and special projects at the library. Because of limited space, donations can only be made on specified dates. A volunteer will assist with deliveries. Request a tax receipt at the time of drop-off.

Women’s resource fundraiser coming up

GREENFIELD – Save the date for The Power of the Purse, an event in support of the Women’s Resource Center of Hancock County.

The event will be at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Bradley Hall, 2 W. Main St., Greenfield. Music and appetizers will be served, with dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. The theme of the event is “Champion Women for Positive Change.”
