GREENFIELD
Marianna Meyer, age 96, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Rawlins House in Pendleton, Indiana. She was born on May 31, 1928 to Chauncie and Hanna Ethel (Hann) Smith. She graduated from Arsenal Tech in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1946. She married Cletus L. Meyer on June 29, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She worked for Sears in Customer Service and was efficient with the teletype. She also enjoyed being around children and loved babysitting when she could. Marianna was a devoted member of Burge Terrace Baptist Church. She also was dedicated to the Caleb’s Kin organization and took great joy in assisting the ministry. Marianna enjoyed reading in her spare time and liked to sew. She was devoted to her family and friends and would do anything for anyone.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Dwight) Ramsey and Deborah (David) Pennington; sister, Wilma Jean Halstead; daughter-in-law, Sherry Meyer; five grandchildren, Christine Franco, Jason Ramsey, Jonathan Meyer, Ryan Pennington, and Cindy Abbott; ten great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus L. Meyer; and son, David Meyer.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 11:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Todd Curtis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Park East in Indianapolis, Indiana.
