New Palestine rising senior Moses Haynes was added today to the list of players scheduled to participate in the 22nd Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/IHSAA Top 100 Underclass Showcase at Ben Davis High School Friday.

Haynes, the Dragons’ point guard, joins the list that includes five other Hancock County players, New Palestine teammates Julius Gizzi and Ben Slagley, Greenfield-Central’s Braylon Mullins, Mt. Vernon’s Luke Ertel and McCordsville’s Julien Smith, formerly of Mt. Vernon High School and now at Indianapolis Cathedral.

Ertel and Smith are rising juniors. The rest of the players will be seniors next season.

Greenfield-Central boys basketball head coach Luke Meredith will be one of the coaches assisting at Friday’s event.

Eastern Hancock’s Kenzie Koch and Greenfield-Central’s Madison Sonsini participated in the girls showcase that was held June 13 at Ben Davis.

Staged by the IBCA with support from the IHSAA and presented by Ballogy, the Underclass Showcase events are designed to give exposure to approximately 251 of the top basketball prospects from across the state (120 boys, 131 girls) to colleges across the state and nation.

Friday’s event will be conducted in two sessions — the first session starting at 11 a.m. and running until about 2:45 p.m. and the second session starting at 3 p.m. and running until about 6:45 p.m.

The Showcase is being held during the NCAA’s “scholastic viewing period,” which allows coaches from NCAA Division I programs to attend in person. It is open to the public. Admission is $5 per person for spectators. IBCA-member coaches will be admitted at no charge by showing their IBCA membership card.
