Lori A. Wood, 61, of Ingalls. The world has lost the most beautiful and sweetest soul. She left this earth on June 14,2024. Lori was born on July 14, 1962, in Indianapolis to the late Sig and Juanita (McMaster) Hauger. She was married for 40 years to Alan Wood, who was the sweetest and most loving husband there was.

Lori and Alan hosted 11 lovely, and magnificent exchange students from all over the world. Lori was a high school graduate from Decatur Central High School in 1980, and soon after she received her BA degree from the IU School of Journalism. Lori had a passion as a journalist to where she was a journalist for the Indy 500 for 20 years, she was also an Indy 500 old timers member. She was also a journalist in California, Florida, and Indiana. She wrote for the Terre Haute Tribune Star and was a sports writer for local high school events in the Pendleton Times Post. Even during her free time in her life she just loved to write, and that included her writing several beautiful romance novels. Lori enjoyed traveling to Europe on numerous journey’s during her life. She loved animals especially her dogs and birds. Lori always could enjoy herself by listening to some Jimmy Buffet. But most of all Lori was just a people person who loved to enjoy life to the fullest.

Lori is survived by her loving husband, Alan Wood; 4 siblings, Don “Donnie” Hauger, Nancy Harris, Mark Hauger, and Sue (Jeff) Brown; niece, Erin Brown; nephews, Josh Brown, Jason Hauger, and Danny Lee Hauger, and many other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sig and Juanita Hauger, and her brothers, Bob Hauger, Kenny Hauger, Danny Hauger, and Gary Hauger.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Bozell Funeral Home-Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, IN, 46064. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00-3:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.

A get together will be held at 9932 Springtone Rd., McCordsville, IN, 46055, immediately after the services at the funeral home.

Lori’s services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes-Lahm Chapel.
