Nighttime summer park event coming up

GREENFIELD – Glow in the Park returns to Riley Park July 13, featuring a large slip-and-slide down the sledding hill.

The annual celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month also features extended splash pad hours and giveaways. The event is hosted by Greenfield Parks and Recreation.

Hours are 8-10 p.m. July 13 at 280 N. Apple St., Greenfield.

A waiver is required to participate in the slip-and-slide; all children under 18 must have an adult sign. All activities are free; no registration is required.

Hot Wheels-themed show to raise money for Riley

MAXWELL – A Maxwell business is hosting a community event this weekend, raising money for Riley Hospital for Children.

Indiana Automotive Equipment/Peak Garage Equipment will host the Hoosier Hot Wheels Car Show beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at 212 N. Main St., Maxwell.

Registration for a car in the show is $20. Awards will be at 1 p.m.

The event will include a food truck, disc jockey, bounce house and all children will receive a free Hot Wheels toy while supplies last. The event is in honor of an employee who has three children who frequently use Riley.

Optometrist to locate in McCord Square

MCCORDSVILLE – Hancock Eye Associates plans to open a new location in McCordsville, on the first floor of McCord Square Apartments mixed-use building.

The fully scoped optometrist practice will be located in the south building, The Lucas. It will include services such as medical eye care and eye emergencies. The practice will also encompass an eye care spa, which will offer microneedling and a variety of aesthetic treatments.

The practice will join previously-announced tenants such as Le Peep, NineStar Connect, IU Health and McCordsville Police Department. McCordsville meetings on YouTube

MCCORDSVILLE – McCordsville now has a YouTube channel so the public can watch town hall meetings live. Previously held meetings will also be saved so they can be replayed at any time.

Fair concludes Friday with several events

GREENFIELD — The Hancock County 4-H Fair will conclude Friday with a Cans for Cars show, commercial vendors, 4-H livestock auction, live entertainment and more.

Help fill a truck bed with canned food donations from 5-10 p.m. June 28; the midway will also feature classic cars.

Bounce houses are open from 4-9 p.m. Friday. Commercial vendors are open from 5-9 p.m.

Several events are scheduled for 6 p.m., including Summit Pro Wrestling, the 4-H livestock auction, a concert by Walker County, and Hearts Ablaze cloggers.
