James “Jim” Wooldridge, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully June 17th, 2024. He was born in Plainfield, Indiana August 13th, 1937. (early life and education) Jim grew up in Indiana and graduated from (high school). (military) After graduating, amidst the Korean War, Jim proudly joined the United States Army. He served our country from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1957. (marriage) Upon returning home from the military, Jim met the love of his life, Linda. They married on October 21, 1961, in Celina, Tennessee, and shared 58 wonderful years together. Linda passed away in 2019. (career) A very hard worker, Jim was a Tool and Die maker for Navistar for many years before retiring. (personality, interests, hobbies) Jim was a strong, loving family man. He took his role as a husband, father, and grandfather very seriously and cherished time with his family. He and Linda were often hosting get-togethers at their home, and he was a great host with a quick joke. In their later years, Jim and Linda enjoyed traveling. They saw countless cities, states and countries, and spent their winters in Florida for several years. Jim enjoyed …(feel free to elaborate on his hobbies and interests) .(survivors) Jim is survived by his son, Jeffrey Coleman (Ruth Ann) Wooldridge; daughters, Lisa Lynn (Robert) Darnell; Cynthia Ann Wooldridge; 6 grandchildren, Sarah Wallace; Coleman Wooldridge; Jake Wooldridge; Emily Darnell; Josie Wilson; Zach Wilson; and 1 great-grandchild. (preceded) Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda. Jim’s memorial visitation will be Saturday June 29th at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East from 11-1pm. His memorial service will begin at 1pm. He and his wife Linda will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
