PENDLETON
Connie Leigh Keerns, 81, of Pendleton, passed away on June 18, 2024. She was born on January 27, 1943, in Hartford City, Indiana to Edward and Mary “Pauline” (Williams) Gable.
Connie was a graduate of Vernon Township High School. She was a school bus driver for Hamilton Southeastern Schools for 30 years before working at Abrasive Products until her retirement in 2010. Connie loved playing euchre with her friends. She was a doting grandma and never missed one of her grandkids sporting events. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowerbeds.
Connie is survived by her children Edward Keerns, Mary Jane (Terry) Wood, Catherine (Fred) Mohler, Mike (Robin) Keerns, DeeAnn Keerns and Rene Keerns; grandchildren Brandon (Katie) Wood, Ashley (Brendon) Simpson, Jordyn Kiser, Shelby (Kyle) Adams, Dara (Gabe) Inman, Drew (Chelsea) Kiser, Maddie Keerns, Annie Keerns, and Steve Keerns; 17 great-grandchildren; and her brother Kip (Carol) Gable. She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph W. Keerns whom she married on August 30, 1962; her brother Wendell Gable; and her parents.
A Funeral Service of Connie will take place at Seals Funeral Home, 122 W. Staat St., Fortville, IN 46040, on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 11 am – 2 pm. Burial will follow at Friends Cemetery.
