Fair features parade, animals, live entertainment this weekend

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County 4-H Fair continues throughout the weekend, with several free community events.

On Saturday, the baby contest is at 9 a.m.; commercial vendors are open from 1-9 p.m.; the carnival is open from 3-10 p.m.; Summit Pro Wrestling is at 3 p.m.; and the fair’s parade is at 6 p.m. Live entertainment is provided by Elkridge with Tim Coffey at 6 p.m. Competitive shows include the Hancock County Pork Producers Show at 9 a.m.; the 4-H Horse and Pony Halter, Performance, Western and English show at 9 a.m.; Open BBQ Contest Judging at 3 p.m.; and the Mini 4-H Swine Show at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday’s schedule features a worship service at 9:30 a.m.; Exhibit Hall open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; commercial vendors from 1-9 p.m. a Nebo Ridge concert at 6 p.m.; and a tractor pull event at 7 p.m. The carnival is open from 1-5 p.m. for a “last blast” in which all rides are one ticket. Competitive shows include the 4-H Swine Gilt and Barrow Show at 9 a.m.; the 4-H and Min 4-H Rabbit Show at 9 a.m.; the 4-H Llama Costume Class at 6 p.m.; and the 4-H Swine Show of Champions and Showmanship at 7 p.m.

On both days, the Barnyard Pig Revue Show and Pig Race are available at 3:30, 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The Hancock County Fairgrounds are located at 620 Apple St., Greenfield.
