Fair exhibits continue this week

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County 4-H Fair continues this week, with several free community shows coming up.

The 4-H Cat Show is at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Show Arena. The exhibit hall and commercial vendors are open from 5-9 p.m. Thursday. The Barnyard Revue Show and Pig Races are at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. in the Community Plaza. Carnival rides are open from 6-10 p.m. Thursday, with a Discount Ticket Night where all rides are one ticket.

This Friday, Farmer Olympics takes place at noon in the Show Arena. Commercial vendors are open from 5-9 p.m., while the carnival rides are open from 6-10 p.m. The Hancock County Mini 4-H Princess Pageant is at 6 p.m. in the 4-H Bowl. Barnyard Revue Show and Pig Races take place at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The contesting classes of the 4-H Horse and Pony Show take place at 6:30 p.m.; the 4-H Foods Auction is at 7 p.m. The Exhibit Hall is open from 7-9 p.m. Free entertainment Friday is by Chloe Anna Kenny in the Pioneer Building starting at 8:15 p.m.

Church to host community Summer Fest

GREENFIELD – Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church will host a free Summer Fest Celebration.

The event is at noon June 23 at 994 N. 600E., Greenfield, following the church’s morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. Expect bounce houses, lunch, a giant Connect Four game, a corn hole competition and even a fire truck spraying water.

Skin cancer screenings available

MCCORDSVILLE – Free skin cancer screenings are available from 9-11 a.m. June 29 at McCordsville Wellness Center, 8505 N. Clearview Drive, McCordsville.

The screenings are physician-led. Reserve a spot by calling 317-325-2649 or emailing [email protected].

Dunk tank fundraiser for Riley Saturday

GREENFIELD – Try to dunk a member of the Greenfield Police Department or Greenfield Fire Territory in a light-hearted fundraiser this Saturday, June 22.

The agencies are taking part in a community event to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children. Dunk tanks will be on site from noon to 4 p.m., as well as food, drink vendors and games. The event is at Walmart, 1965 N. State St., Greenfield.

Money collected by Walmart goes to Riley Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network.

Shrine group to host meal, meeting

GREENFIELD – The next meeting of the Hancock County Shrine Club will be at 6:30 p.m. June 25 at the Fraternal Order of Police, 400 E. Davis Road, Greenfield.
