Dunk tank fundraiser for Riley Saturday

GREENFIELD – Try to dunk a member of the Greenfield Police Department or Greenfield Fire Territory in a light-hearted fundraiser this Saturday, June 22.

The agencies are taking part in a community event to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children. Dunk tanks will be on site from noon to 4 p.m., as well as food, drink vendors and games. The event is at Walmart, 1965 N. State St., Greenfield.

Money collected by Walmart goes to Riley Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network.

Free shows, events at fair

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County 4-H Fair opens this week with several free community activities.

The 4-H Dog Show and 4-H Dog Agility Show are at 5 p.m. Tuesday. A cat show is at 3 p.m. Thursday, while 4-H Pocket Pets show is at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Carnival deals are “Two for Tuesday” on Tuesday from 6-10 p.m.; Kids Day where all rides take one ticket from 1-10 p.m. Wednesday; and Discount Ticket Night from 6-10 p.m. Thursday where all rides are one ticket.

Wednesday is Kids Day, with “On the Edge of Illusion Variety Show” at 1, 3 and 7 p.m., and a Silly Safari animal show at 2, 6 and 8 p.m.

The Country Vintage Market will be in the commercial and pioneer buildings from 1-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Barnyard revue show and pig races are at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The fairgrounds is located at 620 Apple St., Greenfield; admission is free.

Qdoba to host fundraiser for Humane Society

GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Humane Society will benefit from a dining fundraiser from 4-8 p.m. this Thursday, June 20.

Qdoba will donate 25% of sales to the nonprofit organization. Show a flyer at the restaurant; the flyer can be found at facebook.com/hancockhumane. When ordering online, enter the coupon code “Qdobagives”. The restaurant is located at 2037 N. State St., Greenfield.

Restaurant foundation donates to local club

GREENFIELD – The Buffalo Wild Wings Foundation recently donated $1,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Hancock County.

In addition, the foundation gave $1,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis, and $2,300 to Trinity Lodge 18 Inc. Customers of Buffalo Wild Wigs can support their communities throughout the summer by purchasing sauce bottles, according to a press release. For every sauce bottle purchased, $1 will benefit the Buffalo Wild Wings Foundation, a partner of Boys and Girls Clubs of America and hundreds of other local nonprofits.
