Pixy Tea Party returns to Riley home

GREENFIELD – The Pixy Tea Party returns to the James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home this month.

The event in which children can meet “fairies” and hear about pixies in poetry by Riley is set for 1 p.m. June 30 at 250 W. Main St., Greenfield. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 3-15. Register at parks.greenfieldin.org.

Chili cookoff fundraiser set

GREENFIELD – A chili cookoff this month will benefit a nonprofit for victims of domestic violence.

Shelter from the Storm Inc. will host a Chili Cook Off fundraiser 5 pm. June 29 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 515 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield. Tickets range from $1 to $41, based on age and level of participation; a proffesional entry fee option is also included. Learn more at sftsinc.com.

McCordsville seeks community volunteers

MCCORDSVILLE – The town of McCordsville is seeking volunteers for community events that have kicked off recently in the community. Cars & Coffee and Market in McCordsville are on Sundays, and Party in the Park is June 29 Volunteers receive a free McCordsville T-shirt. Pennsy Trail Bike Tour coming up

GREENFIELD – A first Pennsy Trail Bike Tour is coming up June 22, in a family-friendly event hosted by Greenfield Parks and Recreation.

The free event encourages people to bring their own bicycles and join in a guided exploration of the history and scenery that surrounds the Pennsy Trail. Yoga events starting up in McCordsville

MCCORDSVILLE – The town of McCordsville will host outdoor yoga classes this summer. Classes are $12 and will be at 7:30 p.m. Mondays at McCordsville Town Hall Park by the gazebo. A portion of the ticket benefits McCordsville’s parks system.
