Mt. Vernon basketball standout Ellery Minch will be in action tonight at Gainbridge Fieldhouse to wrap up the week of the Indiana-Kentucky All-Star series.

The DePaul signee is part of the Indiana Senior All-Star team. Tip-off for tonight is scheduled at 5 p.m., with the boys game to follow.

Indiana’s girls beat Kentucky’s girls 90-79 Friday night in Lexington. Minch had one rebound and did not score for the Indiana All-Stars.

It’s been a productive week for local talent in the all-star series.

Sunday at Scottsburg High School, the Indiana Junior All-Stars played the Kentucky Junior All-Stars. Greenfield-Central’s Braylon Mullins and New Palestine’s Julius Gizzi participated in that game as well as Wednesday’s contest in Kokomo, along with Minch in the girls game, when the Indiana Juniors took on the Indiana Seniors.

Monday at Hamilton Southeastern, New Palestine boys basketball head coach Trent Whitaker, Mt. Vernon standouts Julien Smith and Luke Ertel and Eastern Hancock girls basketball star Kenzie Koch played in the Futures Games.

Along with the annual basketball game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Indiana Track and Field All-Stars will have the 50th Annual Midwest Meet of Champions today at 11:30 a.m. at Marian University.

Among the local participants will be Greenfield-Central senior high jump state champion Elliot Ryba.
