GREENFIELD
Mary Frances (Netherton) Tunison, 93 of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Meadow Lakes of Mooresville. She was born in Indianapolis on September 8, 1930, to the late Robert &Ethel (McCoy) Netherton.
Mary graduated from Indianapolis Manual High School in 1948. She married the love of her life, Norman D. Tunison on October 9, 1954, in McCordsville, Indiana. Mary worked several years at Indiana Bell as an accountant but later found much joy in staying home raising her children. She was a member of Eden United Methodist Church, where she worked in the nursery and taught Sunday school. She was also a part of the Eden Home Economics Club. Mary enjoyed crocheting, making quilts, and baking cakes.
Mary is survived by her children, Steve (Sheila) Tunison of Noblesville; Dave (Laura) Tunison of Indianapolis; Stan Tunison of Robbinsdale, MN; Teri (Mark) Weddle of Mooresville, IN; siblings, Jim Netherton of Lafayette; Ted (Ruth) Netherton of Batesville; Tom (Pat) Netherton of Bryan, TX; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; brothers; Robert, Jack, and John Netherton; sisters; Judy Frazier, Barbara Glass, and Joan Slipher.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery.
