HANCOCK COUNTY – The Ind. 9 entrance ramp to I-70 eastbound in Greenfield will close beginning on or after 9 p.m. May 28.
The Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP announced the closure for a new traffic configuration.
This new traffic configuration will take two lanes of I-70 eastbound and shift them to I-70 westbound. Crews will maintain two travel lanes of I-70 in each direction. Under the new traffic configuration, crews will complete demolition and paving work for the I-70 added travel lanes.
Work is expected to continue through mid-August, weather permitting.
The official detour for this work is I-70 westbound to Mt. Comfort Road to I-70 eastbound.
INDOT reminds drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using caution and avoiding distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
