Proportion-Air expands in Florida
MCCORDSVILLE – McCordsville manufacturer Proportion-Air has expanded its Florida research and development operations to a new 12,000-square-foot building.
Founded in 1985 by president and CEO Daniel Cook, the company develops pneumatic devices that use compressed gas or air to move cylinders, motors, and many other mechanical parts. The new facility in Gulf Breeze, Fla. provides more space to invent and test new products.
The company’s administrative, sales and accounting functions are also housed in the new facility. In addition to accommodating a growing staff, the building features training space to educate the next generation of manufacturing research and development.
To showcase these capabilities and highlight the new building, Proportion-Air will appear on “World’s Greatest!…” on Bloomberg TV. The episode featuring the company will air , May 25, and June 1, at 1 p.m. central time on DirecTV channel 353, DISH Network channel 203, and on local cable providers that offer Bloomberg. Yard sales expected along U.S. 40
GREENFIELD – The Historic National Road Yard Sale Days are May 29-June 2, with the possibility of yard sales popping up along Greenfield’s Main Street and U.S. 40.

Painting events coming to downtown Greenfield
GREENFIELD — Downtown Greenfield will celebrate art June 8 in the Plein Air Paint-Out and Will Vawter Juried Exhibition and Art Sale. Both events are hosted by Hancock County Arts; the paint-out invites anyone to paint outdoors with a chance to win cash prizes while the exhibition will artistic display pieces at the Twenty North Gallery in downtown Greenfield. Both events are in memory of local resident Will Vawter, who painted landscapes working outside an in a French-influenced Impressionist style in the early 1900s. Historic preservation month event May 29
GREENFIELD — Celebrate Historic Preservation Month in an event next week with a guest speaker from the Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Historic Preservation and Archeology.
The Hancock County Public Library will host an event at 6:30 p.m. May 29 at 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. Danielle Kauffman of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources will give a presentation of the division’s outreach efforts and recap this year’s preservation theme: Indiana’s scholastic gymnasiums.
