Eastern Hancock’s girls tennis team won the Eastern Hancock Invitational last Saturday.
The Royals scored 27 points, finishing ahead of Blue River Valley (18), Jay County (13) and Seton Catholic (2).
The Royals had three individual champions, winning flights at No. 2 singles with Lexie Fletcher, No. 3 singles with Sophie Hardin and at No. 2 doubles with Sarah Clark and Tori Parker.
The team has been on a good stretch of play of late.
Following the tournament victory, they defeated Frankton 5-0 on Monday and Triton Central 3-2 on Tuesday.
Against Triton Central, Fletcher, Hardin and the doubles team of Clark-Parker picked up the wins.
The team picked up a 4-1 Mid-Eastern Conference win over Blue River Valley Thursday.
Lexi Swauger lost a hard-fought match at No. 1 singles, but Fletcher (6-1, 6-2) and Hardin (6-0, 6-0) added victories in the singles column.
In doubles, the No. 1 team of Savanah Hardin and Mikayla Hardy won 6-0, 6-1, avenging a three-set loss from Saturday’s invitational.
Clark and Parker won 6-1, 6-0.
“I felt like we finally played to our potential (Thursday) and came out and took care of business,” Eastern Hancock coach Chris Hardin said. “That’s really good to see with the county tournament (Friday).”
