HANCOCK COUNTY — A McCordsville man who officials say strangled a county woman and held her against her will has been charged with 13 different crimes following a domestic battery incident in early April.

Lim had his initial appearance in Hancock County Circuit Court April 11. The court set a $15,000 cash bond.
According to a probable cause, officials with the McCordsville Police Department were dispatched to North McCord Street to check in a domestic disturbance where a friend at the address said a male had tried to strangle a female.
When officers got to the home, a woman and her 2-year-old child were in the garage of a friend’s house and told officials Lim had created a domestic disturbance at her house for three days. The woman told officials Lim had stolen her phone, wallet, purse and car keys and would not give them back, and when she tried to leave he refused to let her go, the affidavit said.
The woman advised police Lim had strangled her with his hands as well as with some kind of cord and a strap, and had thrown her across the kitchen, causing her to hit the back of her head on the sink, the affidavit said. The woman said that Lim also punched her, leaving her battered and bruised with cuts and scratches. The affidavit stated that the woman was told by Lim that he was going to kill her and he had stated that he fantasizes about killing her.
Officials stated in the report that when they went to the address where they thought Lim would be, he was gone. However, officials from the Lawrence Police Department were able to track him down and detained him.
Lim told officials he and the woman had gotten into a fight due to the woman drinking and that she had fallen due to alcohol and had hurt herself. Lim noted in the report he had not hit the woman.
Court records show Lim is due back in court Thursday, June 20.
