MONTICELLO
Richard G. Kelly, 93, passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2024, surrounded by his wife and family. Richard was born on June 9, 1930, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Chester M. Kelly and Ruth M. (Stull) Kelly.
After graduating high school, Richard served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. On August 30, 1952, Richard married the love of his life, Betty J. (Arthur) Kelly, and they were married for seventy-one wonderful years. To that union, six children were born.
Richard and Betty lived in Fort Myers, Florida for fifteen years, in a beautiful location. Richard loved tinkering with and fixing anything he could get his hands on that needed fixing. He also enjoyed traveling and seeing new sights. He often took along his dog, Buddy. He once modified a Toyota Prius and put a working coffee pot in it and took it on a road trip to Alaska. He also took a road trip on a motorcycle to Montana.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Betty; five children, Robin Kelly of Greenfield IN, Randy Kelly of Fishers, IN, Jayne McClain of Indianapolis, IN, Jon Kelly of Albion, IN and Jeff Kelly of Greenwood, IN; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild.
He was preceded by his parents, Chester and Ruth, his son, Scott Kelly, and his sisters, Margaret Kelly and Marion Lansinger.
The family will be having a Celebration of Live at a later date.
